A Win Win For Sports Medicine Students and SpecOrtho

At SpecOrtho, we are vested not only in our patients, but our local communities and neighbors as well.  Dr. Feltham and team spend countless hours volunteering their time on the sidelines of local sporting events, not only keeping the athletes safe but also, teaching sports medicine to student trainers.  It is a passion that was instilled in Dr. Feltham growing up on athletic fields beside his father, a retired coach and teacher, while taping ankles and icing down injured athletes.  He continues to teach his love of orthopaedics and sports medicine to our local high school’s Sports Medicine Students as they rotate through SpecOrtho as part of their Sports Medicine classes.  During these rotations, the students are kept engaged in all aspects of orthopaedics.   They learn how to evaluate and diagnose orthopaedic injuries, read radiographic images (X-rays and MRI), create treatment plans and occasionally, observe surgical procedures.
