Dr. Brian D. Tallerico

SpecOrtho welcomes orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Brian D. Tallerico ! Dr. Tallerico is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has over 20 years experience in total joint replacement, orthopaedic trauma and all other aspects of the specialty.

His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Jefferson College, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Ohio University/OUCOM in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally he completed a fellowship in Adult Knee Reconstruction and Arthroplasty with E. Marlowe Goble, MD in Logan, Utah.

Upon completing his residency in 2002, and as a result of 9/11, Dr. Tallerico was called into active duty as a United States Navy surgeon where he was stationed in Bremerton, Washington as a Lieutenant Commander. During his service time, he started a total joint replacement program and served as the Orthopaedic Surgery Department Head. After being honorably discharged in 2006 he moved to western Wyoming and as Chief of Surgery and of Orthopaedics he started, developed and grew the service line for over a decade. He and his family moved to upstate New York to be closer to family in 2018 and once again as head of the department developed a thriving Orthopaedics practice to include an outpatient total joint program.

“My wife Karen and I were high school sweethearts and have been married 30 years. We are blessed to have three wonderful children: our eldest Hannah graduated from my alma mater and is completing her Masters degree – Sarah is at the USMA – West Point and when not firing weapons, studies pre-med – and our youngest Caleb is here with us and competes at Ninja Warrior. We decided to move to the area and join the SpecOrtho team because they made us feel like family from the start. We were also very impressed by their commitment to orthopedic excellence and to the community. Our family has enjoyed many vacations to the wonderful state of South Carolina and now we are proud to call Fort Mill home. I’m also excited for the opportunity to help build a Total Joint Replacement Center of Excellence at the beautiful new Piedmont medical center in Fort Mill.”
