Dr. Dhavel D. Chauhan is a fellowship-trained podiatric foot and ankle surgeon with expertise in sports injuries, reconstructive surgery, trauma, limb salvage, and forefoot pathologies. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Chauhan earned his undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia before completing his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University in Miami, FL. He went on to complete his comprehensive Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgical Residency at HCA Westside Regional Medical Center, training in both forefoot and complex rearfoot procedures through a multidisciplinary approach.
During residency, Dr. Chauhan published peer‑reviewed research, contributed to a surgical textbook, served as chief resident, and provided sideline medical coverage for St. Thomas Aquinas High School football. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in Dallas, TX, focusing on complex trauma, reconstruction, and minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery.
He now resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife—also a podiatric foot and ankle surgeon—their dog Astro, and their newborn daughter, who has quickly become the bright spot in every day. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks.
